weekend of speed!!!!!!!!!!!

This weekend we did some serious speed work, first we rode the wildride, it seemed like it was going to be a slow ride from the start, but as soon as we hit plano parkway going east, the pack was going 35mph. It was a steady pace, untill we made a left into a neighborhood, there Mike Brown and Mark Ross drilled it! David Tomkinson bridged the gap, and at the last second i decided to do the same, 1k down the road i joined the group of mark, mike and david. looked like we were doing preety good untill mike brown hit a dog, and we scattered all over the road, we almost all crashed, i thought we all were going to crash, but it was realy close. There we slowed down then we got caught about 1k down the road, me and jimmy wern't thinking about riding that hard because we planned to go to houston on sunday to race for the houston grand crit. so i was hoping my other teammates would cut the slack. Well guess what... they didint, so jimmy and i ended up doing alot of work. at the end of the ride david tomkinson rode preety good. at the end of the ride we took some pictures with lance armstrongs mom, visited the park place lexus booth. we had some fun on that ride it was preety cool.

that afternoon we prepared to go to houston, i planned to stay with my aunt, she lives south of downtown houston. we woke up early sunday morning and headed to down town houston. jimmy and i entered the masters 35+ 123 at about 9:00 in that race we had some bad luck even though we were in the front group most of the time. when coming to the sprint jimmy was in the best position, but he coudent close the deal i was still in a good position to atleast place in the money. when we were taking the very first turn some guy crashed in front of me, and i had to slow down. at that point i completly gave up. we finished 23, and 25, but the race was preety fast in the afternoon we entered the p12 race we got 64 riders including the orven team from mexico, the race started preety fast and we started against the wind, despite the strong wind the pace was very fast, 31+ mph 30 min. into the race the pace was still fierce! 31+ with the headwind and 35+ with the tail wind. it was a little brake of four 20 seconds in front of the pack, wenger kremke and 2 orven guys. they held us 20 seconds behind for the entire race. they got caught in the last lap, i lasted 70 min. of the race and jimmy on the other hand finished the race. it was preety hot the entire race, when the race was over we paked our stuff and headed back to dallas. it was a tough weekend, we rode about 130 miles of pure speed the whole weekend, hopefully i can do the same next weekend.
