MISTAKE ? YES BIG ONE.
Well , today was a big waist of time , I decided to do the Saturday north ride instead of doing intervals on my own , big Freaking mistake, end up crawling home ,too tired and too hot to go fast or at least keep a good pace ,so let see how I did today , sucking wheel in the group 99% , tired 100%, take one pull 0.5 % maybe , speed work and intervals 0%. Sound like zone 3 back all over again . Hopefully I will not make that mistake again this year .

weekend of speed!!!!!!!!!!!
This weekend we did some serious speed work, first we rode the wildride, it seemed like it was going to be a slow ride from the start, but as soon as we hit plano parkway going east, the pack was going 35mph. It was a steady pace, untill we made a left into a neighborhood, there Mike Brown and Mark Ross drilled it! David Tomkinson bridged the gap, and at the last second i decided to do the same, 1k down the road i joined the group of mark, mike and david. looked like we were doing preety good untill mike brown hit a dog, and we scattered all over the road, we almost all crashed, i thought we all were going to crash, but it was realy close. There we slowed down then we got caught about 1k down the road, me and jimmy wern't thinking about riding that hard because we planned to go to houston on sunday to race for the houston grand crit. so i was hoping my other teammates would cut the slack. Well guess what... they didint, so jimmy and i ended up doing alot of work. at the end of the ride david tomkinson rode preety good. at the end of the ride we took some pictures with lance armstrongs mom, visited the park place lexus booth. we had some fun on that ride it was preety cool.
that afternoon we prepared to go to houston, i planned to stay with my aunt, she lives south of downtown houston. we woke up early sunday morning and headed to down town houston. jimmy and i entered the masters 35+ 123 at about 9:00 in that race we had some bad luck even though we were in the front group most of the time. when coming to the sprint jimmy was in the best position, but he coudent close the deal i was still in a good position to atleast place in the money. when we were taking the very first turn some guy crashed in front of me, and i had to slow down. at that point i completly gave up. we finished 23, and 25, but the race was preety fast in the afternoon we entered the p12 race we got 64 riders including the orven team from mexico, the race started preety fast and we started against the wind, despite the strong wind the pace was very fast, 31+ mph 30 min. into the race the pace was still fierce! 31+ with the headwind and 35+ with the tail wind. it was a little brake of four 20 seconds in front of the pack, wenger kremke and 2 orven guys. they held us 20 seconds behind for the entire race. they got caught in the last lap, i lasted 70 min. of the race and jimmy on the other hand finished the race. it was preety hot the entire race, when the race was over we paked our stuff and headed back to dallas. it was a tough weekend, we rode about 130 miles of pure speed the whole weekend, hopefully i can do the same next weekend.

MS 150 WEEKEND !!
MS 150!
Finally the MS150 was here .Friday night my wife and I went out looking for a air bed to put in our tent . We spent 3 hours looking for the right one .3 hours latter we still have not found a good one . Last stop SEARS .we were tired of looking .my wife pick one out and we left. Pack everything for the MS150 .
Saturday morning was here ,wake up about 4:30 am . First I check the weather well it look good 57 degrees, winds blowing out off the north about 20 mph, that was looking good until I opened the front door to load Jose’s Tacoma with the bags , it was cold and super windy .oh well ,time to repack some more stuff in the bags . WINTER CLOTHING !!!.
At the Frisco rough riders ballpark we find the meeting spot and waited for people to show up .
I was looking forward for this weekend, but at the same time I was nervous . rob summers the marketing director at PARK PLACE LEXUS was doing the ride with us , so I was hoping everyone show up .
We had 22 riders registered and only 15 show up .Robertito Marc, Frank, Kenneth, nick, Chris , Jeff layne, Jimmy, Bill, Rob, Pete ,katty ,my son Jorge and I. that was good . I was doing the tandem with my son Jorge . Since we had our own photographer , we took team pictures and decided to leave before the regular start so we can stay together .that did not work out . We end up all over the place . Saturday was super windy and cold . I got the greatest time riding with my youngest son ,even after I got a scare , we stopped in the 3rd rest stop to check his blood sugar ( he got type 1 diabetes ) his sugar was 66, oh gee I freak out and told him to start eating everything with simple sugars, after we eat some stuff we were back on the road. After the lunch stop the course was pretty rolling and cross wind , then it was me who was in trouble I started to feel shaky, my blood sugar got low , lucky for me my son was having a picnic in the rear of the tandem, so he had plenty of food ,I started to eat as much as I could , two miles latter I felt great . We started to go south I was relived , we had a tail wind all the way to the track , my son and I finish I five hours not to bad for 86 miles ,stopped 3 times I my son never has ride more than 15 miles before .
When we got to the track we had some little trouble we the logistics , but we go it going . We went to the camp ground set the tents and the BBQ. We have a great time ,AWESOME!!
Sunday morning , wake up at 5:30 am ,Bill ,Rob and Jimmy got to the camp ground early . About 6:45 am Jimmy and I ride to the starting line, they already have about 300 riders lining up . At 7: 00 am we start . I was cold so we started slow ,small ring and about 20 mph . two miles down the road I look back ,I could no see a soul back there , so we keep rolling till we got to Justin and make a left going west on road 407 . We started going much faster 26 mph . jimmy was pulling must of the time , next , in a hurry we were at the lunch stop , and started to go south on hwy 703 all the way to hwy 114 , jimmy was pulling must of the way , I have to tell you that was a great course , we had the official car in front the entire route, and when we got to the city limits of fort worth the police motor bikes escort us all the way to sun dance square , jimmy pull for the last 10 miles , when we got to the finish, we did the 76 miles in 3 h 18 m . not bad for that course ,windy and hilly . While in the parking lot ,we were surrounded by a bunch of people , they wanted to take pictures with Jimmy and I . that felt good . We had a great time hopefully we will do it again . Even if I was felling like crap for the rest of the day I will do it again .
