BALTERRA ! FLAT MY ASS ! NOT FLAT AT ALL!
Well jimmy and I headed to Austin this weekend . Got to the race about 1:30 in the afternoon , pick our numbers , get the bikes ready , and went to warm up , we started to go around the course , first thing that caught my eye was that after the finish line the road started to elevate a little , so we keep riding . maybe about half a mile up, there it was. that elevation turn into a hill steeper than the first elevation we took for half a mile . that’s when I realized this course is not flat at all. When we made it to the top , wow there you can see how high we were. We went down the hill back to the starting line , it was almost time to start
When we got there the officials did the row call . Kremke ,Matt Gordon ,Justin wolf ,OOPS that’s when I knew that the race was going to be super fast .we were doing 16 miles 4 laps . Time to start , 2:50 pm, we started pretty normal speed , that was till kremke attack on the left side of the pack , and dude he was going on his 53 x12 up the hill , never seen anyone do that in a long time , after that the entire race was at that pace , up the hill the lowest gear I used was 53 x 17 , the first lap we went up the hill in 53x15 , it was a group of 6 that got away and we never caught them .I think I got like 4th in the field sprint ,we were back in the road going to the hotel about 3:50 pm , that race was so fast , I did not got the chance to warm up during the race , it was a great course , not flat like they said ,not flat at all .
